About the Yale 197 Jimmy Proof deadlock (single cylinder)
The Yale 197 is a surface-mounted, jimmy-proof auxiliary rim deadlock with single cylinder function: key outside, thumbturn inside. It includes an angle strike and is non-handed, so it fits left- or right-hand doors.
Typical uses: adding a second, pry-resistant lock to apartment, storage and office doors while keeping quick, keyless exit from inside.
