About the Rockwood 555 lever extension flush bolt
The Rockwood 555 is a lever extension flush bolt for hollow metal doors, with a 3/4" bolt throw, 3/4" rod backset and 12" rod length, in satin chrome (26D). It is non-handed and certified to ANSI A156.16.
Flush bolts are mortised into the edge of the inactive leaf of a pair of doors, and the lever is used to throw the bolt into the head or floor, so the inactive leaf stays fixed and the active leaf can latch against it.
The rod length decides how far the bolt reaches, so measure from the lever location to the head or floor. For fire-rated pairs, check what local code allows on the inactive leaf.
