About the BEA 10MAGLOCK3ULDS 600 lb maglock
The BEA 10MAGLOCK3ULDS is a UL/ULC listed single-door surface mount electromagnetic lock with 600 lb holding force, an LED status light, a lock status sensor, a door status sensor and an adjustable 0 to 90 second relock timer. It runs on 12 or 24 VDC from a separate UL listed power supply and works on hollow metal, wood, aluminum, glass and composite doors.
A maglock holds the door closed by magnetizing a steel armature plate mounted on the door. It is fail safe: when power is removed, the door releases. Maglocks are normally tied to the fire alarm and paired with a code-compliant way to release the door from the egress side.
The status sensors let an access control system or alarm panel know whether the door is closed and locked. Check local codes and your egress devices before installing.
